International Youth Camp – For a fairer world Hey, my name is Martin, and I am 14 years old. I go in school in 8th class. I live with my family in Denmark. We has interested us a little bit for voluntary work. In my family we usually give our old clothes to recycling, to give more to the poor people. And i like to give something i don't use anymore to other people. I have always dreamt about to get on one of your youth camps, because all my friends isn’t interested in these things that I am interested in, and I just want to share my interests with people who interests for the same as me, and I have the oportunity to it, on your camps. I would like to go to the camp in New York, to fight for the fair opportunities for all, because I sometimes feel that the world can be unfair, in small things and in bigger and important things. In small things it can example be in the playground, you can’t always play games with the boys, because you are a girl, or your favorite color can’t be blue because you are a girl and it’s a so called boy color. But bigger things can for example be about racism, racism is a really bad thing and unfair and i dont think its ever going to stop. Another examples is tattoos, if you have big and visible tattoos, it can be harder for you, to get a job even though you are as good as the person, who doesn’t have any visible tattoos, and that's not fair at all. All the unfairnes is in the way for all the opportunities, we could have if there wasn’t all these unfair opportunities. If I get on the youth camp, I would contribute with all that I can do, to the community in the camp. And all the other things we are going to do in the camp. And I hope that I learn some new people to know and to share some of my opinions to learn a lot about opportunities in life, either you are black or white, rich or poor, child or adult, and get some stories from other people there want to help.
