My stay at Youth Island camp was very good and exiting. I chose to go on the camp because I want some challenges in my life and I wanted to meet new people and Youth Island camp is a very good place to get challenged and meet new people and learn to work together with people from all around the world. I could recommend taking one week out of your schedule to go to this camp. We did a lot of fun and challenging things, but it was not that hard. I also made a lot of new friendships throughout the week. For example, I met some people from Australia, Great Britain, India, and South Africa. We did a lot of fun things like team building, yoga, and worked on our self-improvement. I had so much fun with yoga and I loved self-improvement, because in self-improvement you don’t have to think about anything but yourself. I could feel that I really needed to focus on myself more.
The yoga was also very fun to work with because it helped me very much. I started doing yoga at home now, because I feel like I can destress and don’t think about anything and just do yoga without worrying about anything. We also did some outdoor activities like cooking over and open fire. That was a cultural shock for me to see my new friend’s way to make very different foods that I have never imagined of making and didn’t even knew existed. I also participated in a treasure hunt. It took about a day, and it was very challenging, but we figured it out quickly. There were also some creative activities going on at the camp such as music, drama, rap, and poetry slam and painting. Me and my friends had a great time with the drama, music, and rapping. We also found out that our friend from Australia were a musician in Australia and he taught us how to write good songs and the guy from South Africa was good at doing drama, so he also taught us some things about drama.
