Return from Alcatraz

_________________________________________________________________________ We both panicked and we started to scream after the boat, hoping that they will hear us so they could come back to bring us on board. We realized fast that they already was too far away to hear us. We had not seen that coming, when we sailed with the boat to Alcatraz. My sister and i tried to stay calm. We were freaking out because we didn't know what to do, and we definitely didn't want to stay the night on Alcatraz, a island that was known as the most feared prison in the USA. A prison where the most feared and notorious prisoners came to jail, and they could not escape because of the cold water from San Francisco. I had never in my wild imagination, thought of being abandoned on a deserted island like Alcatraz. At first we tried to call after help on our phones, but there was no signal. We turned off our phones in case we didn't get off the island before it got dark. I thought that maybe there was other people on the island, so we start looking round. We walked around the island for about two hours, to see if we could find other people. We also looked inside the closed prison. The only thing we found was animals, so we was all alone on the island. As we thought it could get any worse, It started to rain. We rushed to find a shelter at the closed prison. When we had found shelter at the prison, we thought of other opportunities to get off the island before tomorrow. At the same time, the moon began to rise above the sky and it was getting darker. We were getting hungry, but we had already eaten our lunch. It had finally stopped raining, but it started to get colder. My sister had been a scout, so she knew how to make fire without lighter or matches. We managed to find dry wood. We went back to the prison and my sister started to make a small bonfire. As we began to get the heat, we also got more clear with the idea of ?staying on the island overnight, even though we were not comfortable with it. We were completely exhausted for having walked around the island for a few hours, with the idea of ?being completely alone. As we were both falling asleep we heard sounds coming from the beach. We woke up with a set and started to panic a bit. We quickly picked up our phones and used the flashligth on it. We grabbed each other by the hand and quietly walked out to the beach. A light came into view and we kept going. We could suddenly hear some male voices. Then we saw a small speedboat. The closer we got we could see that there was 3 people with the boat. When we got to the boat they got shocked to see other people. They asked us what 2 young girls like us, were doing on an island like this in the evening. We told them the whole story of how we ended up on Alcatraz. To our great surprise, they told us that they came from San Francisco and that they went to Alcatraz in the evening once a month. They offered to take us back to San Francisco, which we of course said yes to. Even though it was a scary experience, it was nevertheless a really cool adventure.
