First, I would like to say thank you for the incredible experience, that going to the special exhibition at The National Museum of Scotland was. I am truly astounded by the sheer detail there was put into everything there. I have written a short summary of my amazing experience for you, whilst me and mum were on our trip.

Here it is: We woke up early to catch a train heading to Edinburgh, we had packed some food we could eat on the way as it was a long journey. The journey began to feel like it would never end, but then me and mum played some cards and before you knew it, we were there. We walked for a bit, and then I saw it. I tell you uncle; the museum is massive; I didn’t think it would be half as big.

After standing in line for a little while, the guide you had booked spotted us and brought us on this amazing tour. He was quite funny, the guide, he kept on cracking jokes about the dinosaurs and the period it took place in. I quite liked him and he was also incredibly knowledgeable about the subject. I learned a lot of things from him, like how the T-rex wasn’t the biggest dinosaur and the velociraptor didn’t actually lay eggs. I then got to see a skeleton of a dinosaur; it was amazing to see how complicated the bone structure was. The skeletons were also massive, I hadn’t seen anything like it before. As we carried on with the tour, I began to feel a little bit hungry, and we decided to go get something to eat at a café nearby. The café had all sorts of goods, I got a scrumptious sandwich and a warm apple pie. I also met a boy named Adam who shared the same interests as me, we talked about dinosaurs and then we played a game where I was a dinosaur and he was the prey. We left the café and began the tour again. The tour guide showed us an app about dinosaurs that I could play on the train back home. Anyway, the tour was really fun, even though my legs were very tired at the end. My mum and I rested a bit on the bench and then made our way around the museum to see a last couple of things before we went. At 17:00 the museum closed, and we had to make our way back home, but I will never forget the day I got to see real life dinosaur bones and hear wonderful facts about them.
