A short story written by Neil Ramsorrun, 2010 The short story Dukwane’s Deliverance is about Dukwane’s assault and how he imagined his future and education to be like after the assault. He went home from school to get the letter with the news about he got into university. Later after work some maybe racists assault him and make him almost able to never walk again. While he's at the hospital is when he thinks his life over, because he can’t get into university, not getting an education out of his life and his big dream being a politician. All that because he maybe not can walk again. His friend Jermaine tells Dukwane what a great and thoughtful person he is and the fact that he always does the right thing, but to Dukwane that support doesn't matter, because Dukwane wants revenge and he can’t think about anything else. Jermaine switches thoughts and supports him on the idea of revenge. The next morning then Jermaine stops by the hospital before school, has Dukwane switched his mind and begin to think that all this maybe was supposed to happen and he has to live his life. A characterization of Dukwane Dukwane is soon graduating from Secondary Education and he has high expectations about getting into the King’s College at Cambridge University, he applies to. He lives with his mom and dad in a suburb to London called Camden which is about 40 minutes from the center of London. His best friend is Jermaine and they both are black. By the time Dukwane is staying at the hospital, is Jermaine a faithful friend for Dukwane, while he spending his time at the hospital and don’t get bored also Jermaine is joining him at the hospital in the morning before he goes to school. “I’ll talk to Frankie, see what he says.
