Deliverance is a film based on a novel of the same name. The novel was written in 1970 by James Dickey and was in 1972 made into a film. The story is about four men who leave the suburbs to go on a canoe trip to experience the country and wilderness the way the first settlers did it. Their trip is fine until one of the canoes is assaulted during a break and Bobby, one of the men, gets ass raped by two hillbillies. Two of the men come to the rescue though and Lewis saves the two in trouble by killing the man who raped bobby, with an arrow. The last hillbilly escapes and the hunt is now on for the remaining rapist. Some of the men do have some moral quandaries about what to do with the dead body, but the others disagree with him. Because he can’t live with himself, having done that, he decides, more or less, to through himself in the water resulting in the others wrecking their canoes. While crashed, Ed goes after the remaining rapist and tracks him down and kills him. Unbelievably he also shoots himself with an arrow. He come down and, with an injured Lewis from the canoe incident, they make their way back. Back in civilization they are questioned about the trip but decide to lie about what really happened on the trip to avoid trouble. They end up leaving the small town and goes home with the experience of the going face to face against the wilderness.
