Skribentens beskrivelse af The Road by Cormac McCarthy - Analytical essayImagine losing the world you know and love forever in a matter of days, where you watch everyone you know, and love being burnt to ashes one by one. A world where the skies are filled with smog and your only wish is to see the sun once more. A place where rules don’t apply to anyone, where it will be necessary to kill, eat and steal from every other human encounter, just to survive another day. Imagine always being on the move through cold and rainy weather, searching for some place that might not even exist. But amongst all the evil and hopelessness is a little boy made of such kindness which this world doesn’t deserve. The father of the little boy sees potential in the little boy, which also is his only reason for not giving up on the world. He carries on providing for the boy because he believes that he is the last hope of any good that this world might have. |
