In the end, who you do you think has the strongest influence on your education? When you are having though days, where nothing goes, as it should, who are you to blame for this? Is it the government’s fault? Your teachers? Or even your parent? Have you ever wondered if it your own fault? The previous first lady Michelle Obama, strongly believes, that you are your own smith of happiness, which she strongly states in the speech for DC High Schools Sophomores about the importance of education.
”The person who has the biggest impact on your education is you” These words came Michelle Obama, the previous First Lady, when she held her speech at DC High School. At the High School Michelle Obama discussed the importance of education, and the way to providing for your family. A generation ago the United States was number 1, in the number of the most college graduates. Today, the country has slipped all the way down to a 12th place. In the speech Obama states “But over the past couple of decades, this country has slipped all
the way to 12th. We’ve slipped... And that’s unacceptable, and we’ve all got a lot of
work to do to turn that around and get back on top.” The previous First Lady finds the totally unacceptable and something worth changing. The need for education is increasing. In the 2020, one-third of jobs require some form of training beyond High School. Therefore it has gotten extremely important to focus on education.
