Analyse af 'The Tree of War'

It’s important for a child to have a good relationship with their parents. It’s the parents job to raise their child and make sure that they’re happy and healthy. A lot of boys have a special relationship with their dads. They’re probably looking up to their fathers and wants to be just as cool as them when they grow up. But it’s just not always like that. Not every child has a good relationship with their parents, rather it’s about care failure, alcoholic families or the father leaving the family to themselves and never comes back. This subject is broad up in the story The Tree of War.

The Tree of War was written in 2012 by Tayna Datta who is a radio and television journalist and writer. The story begins in media res. It’s about a boy called Krishna and his family, which isn’t working as well as it should be. Krishna is Hindi and has lived with his mother in North London for six years. Krishna’s father used to live back in India with Krishna’s grandparents but just got to London to be with Krishna and his mother; ” I knew exactly where he was. He lived with my grandparents in India” (P. 4, ll. 96-97), “Not since my father arrived a month ago” (P. 4, ll. 81-82).
