When you think of heroism, you might think of great acts of bravery, such as rushing into burning buildings and facing danger in combat. Have you ever thought about it could be something else? There are many answers to what a heroic act is, but the most important thing a hero should do, is putting other people first, even at your own risk. True leaders often put other people first. Actually, this kind of selflessness can also be strategic, because if you concentrate on the needs of others it also ends up helping yourself accomplish your own goals. A heroic leader does so without any expectation of payback. Opposite to selflessness, heroic leaders have a sense of concern and kindness for others. They are caring and always thinking about saving you. This can often be expressed in strong actions intended to improve the lives of others. Another human value a hero needs to have is lots of courage and bravery. It's difficult to achieve anything truly heroic unless you're up against daunting odds or risking big things. Superheroes like spider man, batman and so on, couldn’t be heroes if they didn’t have any courage.
But being a hero is not all about bravery and muscles. You also have to be patient. Heroism often requires quick thinking and determination, so truly heroic leaders also have to show an impressive amount of patience.
