Political correctness has become increasingly important in the last couple of years. People are getting offended more easily than ever which is contributing to the demand of political correctness, -in other words- people has gotten the idea that everyone is equal. Which to some degree is true. But the sad truth is just that they are not always equal. Especially the gender bias. Yes, you can be a fireman as a woman, but it is just not the same, cause technically speaking men just naturally have other traits that woman does not. Like strength for instance. Strength is a key factor in being a fireman. Now this also goes the other way around. Some things women are naturally better at than men. But political correctness is not just about sexism. It is also about racism other things. It is obvious that the opinions are split, but one thing is clear. Something has to be done. This is an interesting topic, because there is a lot of pros and cons to it, some would say more cons than pros. In fact, Newscom even said, "Among the general population, a full 80 percent believe that 'political correctness is a problem in our country”. Pros being that if everyone were to be politically correct, there will be a lot of peace in the worlds, less fight and equality would rise to the sky. Racism and sexism would probably see a massive fall because the new trend would be equality. It will also expose the real racisms and sexisms because they will be easier to spot. This will make unintended racism cases like the red lip mask more unnecessary. Inequality is a big issue that has caused a lot of damage in the society, not only in the US, but in the whole world. But it has become really tough in the US the last couple of years. Political correctness will mean that clothing stores won’t be this much under fire. Like when Gucci had made a mask with big red lips, or when H&M used a black model for a t-shirt saying, “Coolest monkey in the jungle”, which probably were unintended. Television shows also has a huge responsibility to be politically correct, because if they are not. They will catch on fire and it will be really bad for business. It is also very easy for them to slip. Because if they say one bad word, their reputation can be shattered, and they will lose a lot of money.
