What is Twitter?
Twitter is social networking site. A social
network is a social structure made of
individuals or organizations, which are
connected by one or more common interests.
Twitter allows people to share information
about themselves anytime, anywhere.
I was and still am very skeptical about Twitter
as a social networking site. Why would
anyone be interested in being updated on what
someone else is doing all the time? For
example, would you want to know what
your friend chose to eat this
morning or which program, he or she is
watching on the television at this moment?
However Twitter is also a mass
text-messaging service, where it allows you to
send updates, also called “tweets” to all your
followers. You can read and write updates on
your telephone and online. Twitter has in fact
become so popular that a lot of non-tweeters
are starting to feel left out,
especially in America.
Sharing information
But exactly why should people have the need
to be able to share information at all times?
Well people seem to be interested in reading
about basic things in people’s everyday life.
