I’m looforward to visiting you in Australia, and I hope that I can see your little crocodile, Charles once again. I really miss him. One of the things that I am looking most forward to is experiencing that very different culture that you have, and the warm weather in the winters. But I have one question. I have seen pictures of people on the beach with the barbeque in the Australian Christmas, but is that true? And also, what do you eat and drink for Christmas? Normally in Denmark, we eat stuff like meatballs, pork or duck for Christmas. Also, for the dessert in many homes, there is a game where you put an almond into a big bowl of “risalamande”, and you eat it normally, but the person who gets the portion with the almond in it will receive a special gift like a board game or something.
We also have a tradition of dancing around the Christmas trees and singing famous Christmas songs while holding the hands of each other, and that is also a funny tradition.
When we have done that, the whole family will sit together and open the gifts that we have got from or family and friends, which is also a nice tradition. And then we have the New Years, and that is what I am actually most excited for because I have never had a New Years' eve outside of Denmark, so I am looking forward to seeing what traditions you have and how your evening is different from ours.
