A Kidnapping Story: The Journey to Madurai

I started running “I started running as fast as I could. I was afraid of being caught and I knew I would be locked inside the house if my family caught me. I ran until I could no longer, eventually fell to the ground and fell asleep in the middle of the woods. I woke up a few hours later to the sound of birds, they screamed and screamed. I got scared and kept running, I got a little behind to the nearest road. I sat there for 2 hours and diligently waited for a car to come and pick me up. Luckily the first car stopped, he asked where I was going. I replied, "I'm going to Madurai". We started driving when another car drove very close to us and it hit us. We slipped off the road and hit a tree, I fainted. Shortly after, I was woken by two men in black clothes. They said, "Shut up or you'll get shot". I did not make a sound, one of the men found a bag and put It over my head. I was terrified, I didn't know what would happen."

Every night I read this story for my kids, but we never come past the time I got kidnapped either they were scared, or they had fallen asleep. One night when I was reading the story aloud for the kids, they wanted to continue and I read “I was put in the backseat of a car and was driven away” they told me to continue because I didn’t die yet. “The fear was overwhelming, the men started talking I didn’t understand them it sounded like Russian. Suddenly they said to me “where are you going” I said “Madurai” they replied “We aren’t going to Madurai, we are going to Kolkata” I said “That’s like 2115 km north it will take days” “shut up” they said. My kids were listening carefully. They were so interested I closed the notepad and said “time for bed” they shouted “No, continue” I said “ok” I continued the story, “How long till we there” is said, he pointed a gun at me and shouted “shut up” I kept my mouth shut for a long time. About 2 hours later I saw a police car I saw the chance to hit the window and get their attention, they turned on the blue lights. Quickly it turned into a pursuit, luckily the police used a pit maneuver to stop the car. “FUCK” the men shouted, it quickly turned into a gunfight. The police shot both men and I ran out of the car.
