Summary and analysis of 'The Wonderful Story of Henry Sugar'

The book is about the story of Henry Sugar. Henry Sugar was a wealthy man with a rich father. He was not married nor did he have any kids, Henry did not want to share his money with anyone. Other wealthy young men surrounded Henry and they liked to gamble with each other.

One day Henry walks through the study and decided to read a book. He randomly takes a little blue book down. He starts reading the book, and this is where it all begins. The book is about a man who could see without using his eyes, the man was called Imhrat Khan. He studied with the Yogi Fakeirs that taught him to focus on an object that gave him the possibilities to see it without his eyes. Imhrat Khan was inside a circus performing his talent for the audience. He invited a doctor to the show, to make sure his eyes were truly covered. When the doctor saw the show he was truly fascinated, he wanted to know everything. He went there again the next day and after the show he sits down with Imhrat. Imhrat explains to him his whole life story while the doctor is writing every word down that Imhrat says. He spent about three years learning yogi in secret. A yogi can never show their powers, use them for their own benefit or tell anyone about how they learned. When he had told the whole story Imhrat went home. The doctor went back again the next day but the man who could see without using his eyes, had passed away.
