The movie makes us realize that everyone has issues growing up and being lonely. Our youth is a comedy of errors, full of embarrassing, exciting and awkward moments. Memories that we’ll remember and forget. How you change and how you want to become as a person. Maybe start wondering if you met your best self or worst self. The worst thing about growing is when you feel lonely. When everyday seems the same, and at the end you can only blame yourself for it. In the movie “About A Boy” we get to know a little bit more about Marcus and his circumstances.
Marcus is very mature/grown up for his age. He’s very influenced by his mother, but he starts realizing that he is capable to make his own decisions. He turned out the way he did, because his mother has some problems as well. He lives in a small apartment with he’s mother in London. He doesn’t wear any fancy clothes or shoes, mainly because they’re poor. Marcus hates school, and he isn’t like any other kid at school. He gets bullied at school, so he learned to be brave and independent even though it affects him being the ‘loser’ at school and getting bullied at school. Marcus changed a lot through the movie, he definitely became a lot happier and more relieved after he got a friend in school.
