Description of the drug: The drug cocaine is manufactured by the cocoa plants, where they extract the actual cocaine properties from the plant where they fine it down into a powder. It can be found in a powder form and crystal form. It is usually mixed with substances such as corn starch, talcum powder and/or sugar or other drugs such as procaine which is a local anesthetic or amphetamines. Cocaine was originally developed as a painkiller. It is usually sniffed through the nose, so the powder goes through your bloodstream by entering the nasal tissues. It can also be taken by rubbing the drug against the gums, injecting it into the bloodstream, smoke it and etc. Cocaine is known to be one of the most dangerous drugs in the world. Its highly addicting and hard to let go off. It physically stimulates key receptors (nerve endings that sense changes in the body) within the brain that in turn, create a euphoria to which users quickly develop a tolerance. Only higher dosages and more frequent use can bring about the same effect.

Description of the effects when you are ‘’high’’

The feeling of being high is described as feeling a skyrocket and no one can touch you. You are very outgoing, having conversations with people and being happy in general. But all those effects usually only last for 15-30 minutes which is a very short amount of time, so it also means that you will need a lot of dosage in order to get the effects lasting long-term. As tolerance to the drug increases, it becomes necessary to take greater and greater quantities to get the same high. It is like chasing a high that you are never going to achieve. And then the body suddenly craves for more because it is like a medicine the body cannot live without.
