The text is structured to be pessimistic at the start then goes on the be optimistic then evens out at the end of the text. The text states both that screen use has a very negative effect on children and teens, which I agree with to some degree. I agree with that infants and young children should not have access to screens at all till they get older. Because I know for a fact that young children with tablets get addicted very easily, they usually watch children shows and cartoons. Children that watch cartoons in different languages usually mix the languages when they speak which causes their grammar to be awful and often causes them to speak gibberish a lot of the time.
The writer doesn’t pick sides, he/she states arguments for both sides and does this very well without showing agreement or disagreement with any of the sides.
The writer writes about cyberbullying being a negative side of the internet as an argument for less screen time for children. The writer states that cyberbullying is not as bad as real-life bullying, which I completely agree with. Real life bullying which often occurs in schools, sports and the workplace can cause both physical harm and mental harm to the victim, whereas you can’t physically harm anyone over the internet. Some people state that words hurt more than the physical harm bullies can cause, which I don’t agree with, I would rather be called a loser than be punched in the face.
