The story ‘’Yellow’’ is written by Peter Carty, and it is published in Neonlit, Quartet Books in 1999. The story deals with one named Jon. Jon is a magazine publisher, who lives in London, and
Jon has a lot of alcoholic and mental problems that have led to Jon getting tired of life. Jon's magazine editors force him to go on a learn-to-scuba-dive trip to Egypt. But because of his traumatizing relationship with water, he ends up attending the diving school, even if Jon doesn't want it himself. Jon does not want him to be confronted, and decides to isolate himself, which then leads to Jon's death as he sees this as the only solution.
The color Yellow, means that you are not brave and a coward. The story title actually reflects the main character Jon, as he himself is not brave and chooses to isolate himself, instead of solving his problems, Jon tries to hide from them and hide them.
