The short film “Soldier bee” is about a woman named Jodie Baxter who suffer from really bad PTSD as a result of her serving in the Afghanistan conflict the past 2 years. Throughout the movie Judie gets flashbacks to a time in Afghanistan when a bomb exploded next to her witch inflicted her burns all over her body.
Jodie lives with her teenage daughter and her husband, but her relationship to them seems quite tense.
Her daughter has some of her own drawing hanging in her room, and one of she calls “soldier bee”, because it kills the other bees. That drawing plus some blood on the daughter’s clothes results in Jodie escaping to a hotel room, where she spends the night observing the couple next door.
Jodie ends up joining the couple’s room, where she takes coke, and asks the man to have sex with her. While they are doing it, she gets a flashback to the time she got bombed in Afghanistan and she starts beating up the man. After she beat up the man she runs home covered in blood.
