Miles and Alistair both start their first year at Oxford University though they are very different. Miles and Alistair both join the Riot Club, an exclusive elite drinking club at Oxford. Miles’ girlfriend Lauren warns him about the members of the club, but Miles is blinded by the thought of being part of an exclusive club. He soon realizes his mistake when the club are having dinner at a country pub. Getting more and more drunk, the club starts destroying the room and Alistair ends up beating the owner and sending him to the hospital. This is where Miles realizes what he has become a part of.

Though exaggerated, the movie still shows the difference between the classes. It shows how upper-class people think they own the world because of their money and background. The movie presented the point of view that upper-class people do not want anything to do with the lower classes, for example when the club searches for new members, there are some requirements such as the member having to have gone to a fancy college or like Miles have a brother who was a riot club legend. Another example where the movie shows the difference between classes could be the colleges that Alistair and Miles went to and the difference it might have made. Miles went to Eton, which is an expensive private school, in contrary to Alistair, who went to Harrows, a cheaper but still upper-class college. That could be one of the reasons that Alistair and miles are so different but let us look further into these two characters.
