The Riot Club is a thriller drama film from 2014. It is written by Laura Wade and directed by the Danish film director Lone Scherfig. The film illustrates the differences between being upper class and lower class when 10 boys buy themselves influence and respect with money and get away with more than horrifying boyish pranks and behaviour.
The Riot Club is a prestigious club that was founded many years ago. The film is a film about 10 young boys who study at Oxford University who are all a part of the club The Riot Club. The boys have the belief that money can buy everything and are convinced that no rules rule over them, except the rules they have created within the club themselves.
The plot of the film takes place at a pub. When the members of the club arrange a meeting at an English pub, where they eat lots of food, drink lots of alcohol and destroy a pub. These dinners have been a tradition for years in The Riot Club and they always all had to dress up according to the club dress code, which is old school clothing such as long blazers.
It ends up with the owner at the pub having enough and forced the boys to leave. But the boys insist on staying and try to bribe him with money. Which ends up in a big fight where they beat the pub owner until he is unconscious and almost dead.
