Me and my friends went on a trip to New York. We were going to take a big ship to New York, but something bad happened. We started to board on the ship, and everything went fine. Me and my friends found our cabins and put our bags there. We then headed downstairs to go get some tea. After we drank some tea, we went swimming in the swimming pool. We had been in the swimming pool for an hour or 2. But when we got up in our cabins again, the ship started shaking. An alarm went off and we were scared. We ran outside our cabins to check what was going on. We nearly saw it instantly. The ship had hit an iceberg, and everybody was screaming. We didn't really know what to do, the ship started tilting in the front end of the ship. We freaked out and thought we were going to die. We began to run to the front of the ship and waited there. We began to see boats coming our way to save us. We had nothing to do other than just jump into the water. Me and my 2 friends jumped, and the water was freezing we started to swim as fast as fast as we could to get to the boats. We jumped up on the boat and couldn’t really breath. They gave us warm blankets and made us tea as fast as they could. We were around 20 people on that one boat, but there were many other boats. On that day over 1500 people died. I'm just happy to still be alive and still have both of my friends the day today.
