Parvez is the main character in the story. He is born in Pakistan and immigrated into England when he was young.

He works as a taxi driver in night shift and spends more than 10 hours in his work and sleeps all day.

This makes him away from his family.

He is married and has one boy called Ali.

He thinks that all family’s demands are money, so he works for a long time in the night to earn more money.

He pays for his son’s study as an accountant, books and good suits.

He exposed to a bad experience when he was a little boy in Pakistan when he taught Koran, and this brought him to avoid all religions, so when he raised his son up, made this away any religion’s teachings.

Parvez notices some changings in his son’s attitude, and he thinks at first that his son takes drug.

He is afraid to discuss what he thought with his friends in the work because he doesn’t want to be blamed.

He talks with Bettina about his son’s transformers and she advices him to observe his son’s eyes and activity to be ensured that his son is a drug addict or not, and to notice any physically difference.
