My son the fanatic

“My Son the Fanatic” is a story written by the author Hanif Kureishi. The story tells about a very unusual situation for an ordinary family, actually, not quite an ordinary family. Parvez has been working as a taxi driver for almost twenty years. He and his family immigrated to England after some years in Pakistan. Therefore he has decided to contribute to a development in a new Western lifestyle. He changes his way of living, his norms, his habits and his identity which lead his family into a big modification. “He had ordered his own wife to cook port sausages, saying to her, “”You’re not in the village now, this is England.
