In just a few years true crime has gained massive popularity. I think the reason for that is because true crime is appealing to a lot of us and we all to a certain extent are fascinated by death. We find it very interesting, and the stories are exciting for us listeners and viewers. It’s exciting for to be part of finding out who did it and how it went.

You can experience true crime in many different ways. You can read books about it; watch documentaries and listen to podcasts. I have listened to a podcast in which two girls are sitting and having a casual conversation about a murder. While telling the story they laugh. To some people that might be really disrespectful and in that’s why true crime is a very controversial format. The girls sit and make fun of death and it an offend many. For example, it may offend the parents and relatives

Often true crime is based on real events, it’s made it more interested because we know it’s true. I’ve heard a podcast called “Mørkeland”. The podcast is really interested, you hear about different crime stories all over the world. The podcast really catches my eye because I know it’s s podcast based on real events. But there also many disadvantages around the podcast, even though it is exiting, there are also many things in the podcast that can seem offensive. The host in mørkeland, for example, talk about the real human tragedies in a quiet and calm tone. The way the talk about human tragedy because is sounds like a nice topic of conversation and in that way a lot of people can also feel it offensive. That is, that they make it nice to talk about other people's people dead. The way they talk in the podcast makes you not feel they have respect for the victim or the relatives. As a human being, one can therefore feel that they make people's death an entertainment. By making programs about it or podcasts.
