In the following four texts' we get different statements from several persons on the topic "organ donation".
1. Give a brief account of the issue of organ donation as it is outlined in the texts.
The first text "Everyone must be an organ donor unless they opt out, says Chief Medical Officer" are written by Nigel Hawkes in 2007. The text is mostly about Sir Liam Donaldson who wants more people to become organ donors. He comes up with a method which has been used in Spain. The method is called "from opt-in to opt-out" and it's all about, going from an opt-in system to an opt-out system. This means that all the Americans are organ donors, unless they chose not to be. So, because of that it is not necessary for the American to join in to be donor, as they automatically are donors. But they can sign out if they do not want to be donors.
The writer also comes up with many facts about the donors, and the massively low number of people who want to donate and those who are waiting for an transplant. The second text "The solvable problem of organ shortages" is written by Jane E. Brody who is a biochemist and a journalist.
