Hello guys and welcome back to your daily blog from the British school ship Lord Nelson! My name is [NAVN D] I’m 18 years old and I’m from Denmark. Day 22 and 23 was in my opinion the best days I’ve had on the voyage so far. Let’s start from the morning. We woke up, and ate breakfast and drank some coffee at 8 am, as always. We got ready and got on the deck, we got the program for the day from the captain, [NAVN B]. He told us we should go to North America. We all got so excited and was so happy, me and [NAVN E] looked at each other and we smiled. [NAVN E] is my best friend on the voyage, we’ve been friends since we got on the voyage, he is 17 years old and he’s British.
Crossing the Atlantic was a hell, the sea was so choppy and there was so much wind we almost felt off board. Most of the time I was under the deck in the communal room with [NAVN E], we didn’t want to get all wet and cold. So, we played cards.
Arrived in North America
We left England 3 weeks ago, and we’re finally arrived in America, and I was so happy and excited when we got the news. Finally! I could see the voyage sailing into the NY Harbor. We got out and ate at a Harbor Restaurant, I ate fish and chips. After we ate, we got on the voyage again and we sailed to the statue of liberty. It took about 15 minutes to get there. I saw the statue for the first time in my life. It’s so beautiful, we took some photos and sailed kept on sailing to Manhattan Skyline. We saw Manhattan skyline, but I wasn’t so impressed. After an hour at Manhattan Skyline, we sailed to the nearest Harbor and found a spot and anchored. We got some food at a Harbor restaurant, and we got back to the voyage, me and [NAVN E] was set to clean the deck today. So, we cleaned the voyage and went to sleep.
