Michael Brock is a thirty two years old lawyer working his way to the top in the Drake & Sweeney law firm. One day a homeless guy called ‘Mister’ was taking Michael and eight other lawyers as hostage in the big Drake & Sweeney building. After several hours was shot by a police sniper and it maked Michael start realizing how lucky he really was.
He began wondering if he was at the right job and about his home life. Michael got seperated and became a street lawyer – a job with less money. A day Michael is meeting the young homeless mother of color – Lontae Burton – and her three children is his life really going to change. When the mother and her kids – the day after their meeting with Michael – dies in a car, are Michael ready to go to the course, to prove that Lontae and her children wasn’t squatters but (det andet). He’s also stealing a file from Drake & Sweeney to prove that they has made an illegally eviction of homeless people which has caused death to Lontae Burton and her three children.
Mordecai Green - the boss in 14th Street Law Center – is a big help for Michael and he is with him the whole time through the proces. Michael and Mordecai wins and Drake & Sweeney have to pay four million dollars. Mordecai also suggested three million dollars for the Burton lawsuit, paid at three hundred thousand a year.
