Everyone wants to have the same equal opportunities and rights, as every other individual on the planet earth. This type of equality didn’t exist for black people back in the day. But in the early winter of 1863, President Lincoln made all American slaves free and did his best to make them have equal rights so they would be equal to the white people. Although he tried to make this a reality, this wasn’t successful even in 1963 when Martin Luther King, held his famous speech “I have a dream” at the Lincoln Memorial, Washington DC. Martin Luther King tried, as Lincoln did, to have this segregation of black and white people come to an end. And afterward, turn their back on this sad slavery/segregation part of world history.
Analysis
The sender of this speech is as said “Martin Luther King”. Martin Luther King was raised by his father who was a priest/pastor, he was also named after him. Martin Luther King’s father unsuccessfully tried to make Martin Luther King a full-blown Christian priest, but as the years went Martin Luther King researched Christianity himself and found that many of the stories had to be true. He, later, followed his father’s footsteps and became a priest/pastor. The fact that Martin Luther King grew up in a very religious family, undeniably made him automatically have more ethos on his side since the American society back then was mostly religious. On top of that, he used the bible as a reason for justice for black people, even though white slave owners used the bible to protect their means when it came to slavery.
