My experience
First, I will tell you a little bit of my experience of being an exchange student.
I’m from Denmark and I was an exchange student in Florida. First thing I did was meet the family I was going to live with. It was a family of four, a mom, a dad, a teenage daughter and a little baby boy. They were very nice and always ready to help if I needed it.
We went to their house, where I would be staying. They showed me around and showed the room I would be sharing with their teenage daughter. I was very shy at first, but eventually started talking more and more. After a week it became very easy for me to fit in the family. I became very close with the teenage daughter, her name was Linda. I was going to be at the same school as her which made it a lot easier because she was there. It was actually a lot harder than I expected to say goodbye to them. I still talk to them over the phone sometimes, but mostly Linda.
