It all started back in 1988. Currently, I worked in an old supermarket. I met a guy named Jordan Belfort at a restaurant. I saw the coolest supercar I had ever seen, I asked him if it was his. “Yes” he told me. I asked him how much he makes per month. “77 thousand dollars, I work at a stockbroker” he told me.
I couldn’t believe it. I told him that I would quit my job, here and now, if he could get me a job.
After this, we became good friends, and I started working at the stockbroker too.
After a year while earning good money, we thought to our self, what if we started our of stockbroker firm. We started to call people we knew, people we thought had potential. In 1989 we started our own stockbroker firm “Stratton Oakmont”. We rented a small garage and started employing people, we started earning big cash. We knew this wasn’t exactly illegal, but we didn’t really give a fuck at that time. After a year or so, we had a couple of thousand employees and a big office. Me and Jordan started to earn about 250 thousand dollars per day. We knew we had to start being careful, or the FBI would see what we were up to.
