“The Skirt” is a short story about a young woman, who wakes up one day and cannot move her legs. She ends up in the hospital because of her disability. She visits multiple different kinds of doctors and specialists, but none of them seems to know what happened to her. Therefore, she ends up moving back home to her mother's house, and she needs to get used to life in a wheelchair, with constant pain. She always wears a skirt, because it is easier to dress her in a skirt than trousers. One day she changes from the skirt she did not like, to trousers instead. She then rolls out into the city alone, to experience life alone and in a wheelchair.
