Feeling free is an important feeling. Mostly when you are young. Being able to be free from all your duties and do what you like to do and that no one can hold you back might just be the best feeling in the world. It’s exciting. It’s exhilarating, and it is certainly worth living for. But it does not mean that you should let go of all your duties and forget about your responsibilities either.
This short story is a perfect example of just that. In the short story A Gap of Sky by Anna Hope we meet a nineteen-year old girl, Ellie. Ellie is a seemingly regular teenage girl who lives in London. But what makes her a bit different is the fact that she likes to party and do drugs when she really should be at home studying. The story is about how she wakes up late and has to write an essay due to the next morning. But a lot of things happen that prevent her from doing her work. First of Ellie is all out of printer ink, so she decides to go the student shop at UCL to buy some. And on her way over to the shop, she sees things that distract her.
