He is talking about how he had to leave his home. He was a wanted man in 2011.If they got caught they would have been assassinated, because he had fought against the government. He is from Syria which is has a lot of different religions. He grew up with his family. You are research for the government. You’re always being watched. It was a beautiful place until it wasn’t. It all started in Africa when people stood up for freedom. For almost 40 years they were being watched by the regime. The younger generation decided that enough was enough. They went down to the street and demonstrated. He tried several countries to find a home and ended in Jordan where he felt safe, but there wasn’t a job for him. He studied engineering back in Syria before war. He wanted to believe that he still had a chance to change the world. In Florida there was a school that listened to him and his story. That school believed in him and offered him a full scholarship. He was all alone and had nowhere to go but he felt greatness and peace. He saw a future in that place. His first meal was at chipotle and ordered tacos. The restaurant was full of different races and countries. The history of America is full of people like him who fought for freedom. He misses being part of a family but is grateful for the freedom, opportunities, and secureness. He thinks that home is where you can have hope and a future and that is the American dream for him.
