The Power of Nature is an article written by Giulio Boccaletti, a former Chief Strategy Officer & Global Ambassador for Water with The Nature Conservancy.
In the article he explains that nature isn’t as fragile as we think, and that maybe the problem lies at us. Everything we’ve accomplished; skyscrapers, interstate highways or machines that fly means nothing compared to nature’s power and possibilities. We rely on nature. And we’re the ones at risk right now. If we want to survive - and hopefully even thrive - we need to shift the focus from us to nature, to find the answers. Our control of the world has gotten out of hand, and we are going to be the victims that feel the consequences of our own actions.

The Power of Nature
It has eventually become maybe the biggest cliché in every nature program; a beautiful scene with amazing ecosystems and complex habitats filled with the most alluring animals ever seen. But then it takes a dark turn as we’re shown how industrialisation has ruined our nature. The smoke coming from incineration plants, plastic lying in nature, and pipes pouring the most disgusting, polluting water into oceans. And then comes the affected nature; forest fires, ice melting, soil drying out, not to speak of the polar bears, elephants, rhinos, and so many more animals. And that is true - we, humans, are the cause of all of this. But is it really nature that’s the victim or are we just too scared to confront the truth? In Giulio Boccaletti’s article “The Power of Nature” he calls exactly that into question by revaluating our take on the correlation between nature and mankind.
