The film is about a basketball team, Richmond, which in an entire season has only won 4 games out of 22. Their old coach, Coach White, chose to leave the team as coach, and thus they got a new coach. The new coach is Kenny Carter.
Kenny Carter lives in Richmond, California. He becomes the coach for Richmond High School's basketball team, the Richmond Oilers, having played for the team thirty years earlier. Initially, the team is rude, and disrespectful.
The new coach has new and alternative methods of teaching the boys about respect. Timo Cruise could not accept to the new rules- so he was kick off the team. Timo has an eye on the team and seen their victory. Thus, he chose to come back to the team after 2 weeks. Of course, like his teammates, he should run 2500 suicide races and do 2500 push-ups.
The new coach also has a contract that must be completed by all the players before they can play in the team. The contract states that they must have a position of 2.3. They have to show up for all the classes, and thus they have to sit in the front row. The contract also states that they must wear ties to all their matches. Which for someone was very challenging.
