As my main topic I got sport, for that reason I chose the undertopic “mental health” in sports. Because I find it super interesting, how sport effect your mental, and also how damaging it can be.

What is mental health?

Mental health

Mental health is a state of mental well-being, that helps us cope with the stresses of life, realize our abilities, learn and work well, and contribute to our community. Mental health is a basic human right, and it is crucial to personal, community and socio-economic development.

Mental health includes our emotional, psychological and social well-being. Its important at every stage of life.

Mental illness

Many combine mental health and mental illnesses, but it is to completely different things. Mental health refers to anyone´s state of mental, emotional well-being. Mental illnesses are diagnosed conditions that affect thought, behaviors and changes in emotion. There is no single cause for mental illness. But a number of factors can contribute to risk for mental illness

Trauma or abuse

Experiences related to other ongoing chronic medical condition.

Biological factors

Use of alcohol or drugs

Feeling lonely and isolate.

Over 1 in 5 young (age 13- 18) in the US deal with a serious mental illness though out their youth. More than 1 in 5 US adults live with a mental illness. There is more than 200 different mental illness
