In the story, the child at the supermarket can be seen as representing the woman who finds it. At first, the child seems all sweet and innocent, just like how the woman might want to appear to others. But when the child speaks, it says some surprising and not-so-nice things, kind of like how the woman might have thoughts she's not proud of.
In my opinion, the child can represent two things. It can either represent the woman, but in a version without filters, so the child says what the woman wants to, but is afraid of. But the child can also represent that the things we say to each other, can affect a little child, and the child takes the words to them, and use them.
The child's words touch on some serious stuff, like being mean to people from other countries or making jokes that are too offensive, like when the child says "The real terrorists are people who aren't properly English. They will sneak into football stadiums and blow up innocent Christian people supporting innocent English teams."
The child also talks about immigrants and women in a negative way, which seems very strange because it looks so innocent. The child says things like “What do you call a woman with two brain cells? Pregnant!" and “What’s the difference between a pussy and a cunt?”, things you don’t expect a little child to say.
