On April 20, 1999, two students named Eric Harris and Dylan Klebold carried out a

tragic shooting at Columbine High School in Colorado. They killed 12 students and one

teacher, and many others were injured during the attack. After the shooting, Eric and

Dylan took their own lives. This event shocked people all over the world and became

one of the most well-known and tragic school shootings in the history of the United

States.

Eric and Dylan planned the attack for a long time. They created videos where they

talked about their feelings, their anger, and their plans to hurt people. They wanted to

cause fear and pain not only to the students and teachers at their school but also to the

whole community. Their actions left many people confused and searching for answers

about why they would do such a terrible thing.

Experts believe that both Eric and Dylan had deep problems with anger, bullying, and

mental health. They also wanted to get back at the school and society because they felt

hurt and ignored. The Columbine shooting led to many discussions about school safety,

bullying, mental health support, and gun laws in America. People still study this event
