Vesuvius og Titanic: historiske katastrofer

Vesuvius is a volcano in the south Italy. The 24 April 79 the 1300 meters high Vesuvius were erupting. 7 years before that, in 72, there had been an earthquake, and when people felt the ground under there feet began to shake they just toured that it was a little earthquake again. But it wasn’t, it was a volcanic eruption of Vesuvius. 24 hours after the people in the city’s close to Vesuvius felt the ground shaking, the city Pompeii and Herculaneum were covered whit 2,5 Meters ash. About 2-3000 people died. But that eruption wasn’t the only disaster Vesuvius had made. Originally the town Pompeii was close to the ocean, but after the eruption of Vesuvius the bay was covered in ash, so now Pompeii is about 3 kilometres from the beach.

Titanic

Everybody knows the story about titanic, the biggest and most luxuries ship in the world. On titanic there was third. Class. Second Class and First Class. Third class was down in the bottom of the ship, and first class were in the top of the ship.

Titanic was 269 meters long and 28 meters at the beam. From the waterline to the deck there were 18 meters. The ship had 4 boilers, but only 3 of them were used. The 4th was just the make it look more impressive. Titanic could carry 3547 passengers.
