This is an article, where Shashi Tharoor tells about his experience with security in airports.
It is described, how there has always been a checking of passengers, for safety reasons, but that everybody has gotten a lot more careful after 9/11. Now they are even demanding people to have their shoes inspected. He tells about a specific situation, where he had expected a quiet trip, but the security folks had to go through his suitcase, and he actually was a bit worry about weather it was a kind of pilferage.
Sashi Tharoor also mentions the fact that he thinks they often suspect the wrong people, instead of what might be the real terrorists. There is for examples the mother who gets checked for the breast milk she is carrying, in a bottle for her baby.
He feels like he is getting violated, and that you are putted through more and more for every time you fly.
2. Give an outline of various attitudes to airport security in the texts
Three different opinions are expressed in the articles, the first one telling about how we are getting violated by security guards in airports, and by almost ridiculous security checks.
In the second article ‘Attendants question ground security’ this article is, as the title describes, about the so cold ground security, and not the suspicion about the passengers. The passengers have to send their luggage through inspection, and them selves has to pass through a medal detector. This is all very well, and is helping securing the flights, but when it comes to the workers on the plain and the airport there isn’t this kind security, they move in and out of secured arias, but does not even ´pass through metal detectors or anything, because it would be to difficult to establish.
