Den diskuterer de skærpede sikkerhedsprocedurer for passagerer, den manglende kontrol af besætningsmedlemmer, og sammenligner amerikansk og israelsk lufthavnssikkerhed. The article is about Shashi Tharoor who’s been a frequent flier since she was six years old. She’d been working for the United Nations for the past 20 years, and has a blasé attitude toward air travelling. She is use to the routine at the airport, but since the 9/11th incident, the security at the airport has become more thorough.

She describes the routine as embarrassing, as the security even goes through her most intimate items, and holds them up to dubious inspections.

Some are selected for secondary screening. They are picked in inverse relation to the likelihood of being a terrorist. People such as an old grandmother with a walker, or a mother with her baby who e.is asked to taste the babies milk, to make sure it isn’t poison.

You have to smile through the whole ordeal, or else the security will really come down on you.

2.

In general all three articles are about the security procedures on airport terminals after the 9/11th incidence.

Text 1: Says that after the 9/11th incident, the airport has gone through a new whole dimension.

Before the 9/11th incident, there were security checks, but now she feels sorry for the six-year-old who travels alone, because of the procedures you have to go through smiling. If you don’t smile, the security will really come down hard on you, and you may have to do a secondary screening, which is very embarrassing.
