This is an article, where Shashi Tharoor tells about his experience with the security in airports.
It is described, how there always has been a checking of passengers, for safety reasons, but that
everybody has gotten a lot more serious about it after the 9/11 episode. Now they are even demanding people to have their shoes inspected, loosen belts and empty their pockets. He tells about a specific situation, where he had expected a quiet trip, but the security peoples ends going through his suitcase. Sashi Tharoor also mentions the fact that he thinks they often suspect the wrong people, instead of what might be the real terrorists, a mother who gets checked for the breast milk she is carrying, in a bottle for her baby. He feels like he is getting violated, and that you are putted through more and more for every time you is going to fly.
