Something on the mind

It was a typical Saturday morning, in the little city of Polmshire. The weather was fine, but the sun had yet to show its shiny face. It seemed that it would be a normal day, just as the day before. But for one person, this day wouldn’t exactly be that good.

Martin was his name, he woke up as always at 07:00 and went out to the bathroom, to brush his teeth, and to take a shower. After that, he went out to cook some breakfast. Today’s menu was scrambled eggs and a slice of toast. At this point you couldn’t blame Martin for anything, he was probably just thinking, that this day would be just as every other day in his life. Martin wasn’t exactly sure where his parents were today, but they were probably just working, or were they?

At around 15:00 Martin got home from school, thinking that he could just sit down and relax for the rest of the day. But suddenly when Martin was minding his own business in his room, his dad walked in. He told Martin to come sit next to him, because he had to important thing to announce. At first Martin wasn’t really paying attention, since he just thought it was something useless his dad was going to tell him. But when the words came out of his fathers mouth, Martin started to built rage inside, and at the same time he got very sad. He started to think a whole lot. All the new decisions he had to make, all the changes in his life this would cost. He turned his head towards his dad and looked right into his face, his dad had nothing more to say, so he walked his way. After that, Martin just sat there. Looked like a big question mark. He had never thought that his parents would end out in a divorce. And he couldn’t understand why, since they had always seemed so happy with each other, and now when his mom was pregnant with a new child, this wasn’t really the right time to get one, Martin thought. Martin was speechless, he had no idea what to do, he just sat there, looked out into the air. Was he going to live with his dad or his mom now? What about their house and furniture? What about all the friends he had here, he didn’t want to leave Polmshire, it had become such an important place to him. But Martin had to see what the future would bring, because now he would try to sleep a little bit so he could get this awful thought out of his head for some time, and so he did, probably hoping that all this were just a dream, but would Martin be that lucky for a change? Time will tell..
