American Football: NFL

I have decided to write about NFL (National Football League), because I think American football is a very interesting sport, and I like the sport. I watch NFL on the television every Sunday evening. Someday, I would like to go and watch a match in real life. I started watching NFL, because one of my friends watches it, and he told me about it, and since then, I have been watching every match that’s on television. But it’s annoying, that the matches are late in the night here in Denmark, but it’s because it’s live from the USA.

NFL (National Football League)

NFL is the professional league for American football in the USA. The National Football League is split up in the equal conferences: NFC and AFC, which both consists of 16 teams from all over the USA in each conference. And these two conferences are then divided into 4 divisions: North, South, East and West.

In August, there is pre-season, which consists of 4 matches, and it’s like a “warm up” before the real season starts. The season is from September to December. There are 17 rounds in the season. Each team is playing 16 matches, and having one week without a match. In January, there is play-off, where the 8 division winners and the 2 best teams of the rest from each conference are playing against each other. The winners are the teams that have won most matches. The 2 best division winners from each conference are not playing the first round of the play-offs, because they are automatically forwarded to the “divisional play-offs”. The winners of those matches are playing two finals, one in each conference. These matches are called “conference championships”.
