To achieve the American dream and live the life they have dreamt of. But is today’s American dream still about Peace?
Isabel Belarusian fled from Russia in 1930 with her family when her father sidor Belarsky got the offer of 6 months’ work from the Mormon school president. Isabel Belarsky dreamed of living the American dream. She dreamed of being an American and having a house, work, and freedom. Isabel says in the article “Our dream was to be in America,” page.1 - line 14. She was interviewed for this article because she was one of the many people who wanted to achieve the American Dream. But she, like many others, experienced that it was not what she had dreamed of and what she had heard about.
The Quest for Coca Cola is the way the article has chosen to describe the American dream. When they have achieved the freedom, they have dreamed of, they want more than what is necessary, they want more than what they started out dreaming of. You can say that it's a bit like having a big desire for water, and when you've got it, you want more and better, so now water isn't enough so now you want coca cola.
