I don’t think we can stop hooliganism because hooliganism isn’t something we just can stop. Through the last years FIFA and UEFA have been working on cooperation. The purpose with this is to stop the violence in football matches. They have tried different things like expensive fines and some type of cameras inside and outside the stadium. But I think that none of these are going to work. I don’t think fines will influence hooliganism. And the thing with cameras is bad too. What will they do with it! Will they try to recognize every person or hooligan? That system or idea is not going to work.
How can hooliganism influence the world around?
When a hooligan fight happens, many innocent people get injured or die. And that will influence many things. It can influence football team. Economical. Their income will fall down because people are afraid to see their games. The most appalling hooligan episode we had was the Heysel tragedy. That started with a hooligan fight between Chelsea and Liverpool fans. It leed to a disaster. People were pushed against the fence and it collapsed. 39 people died and 600 were injured just because of a hooligan fight. One of the victims was an 11-year old boy. Think about how his parents feelt. That’s also one of the reasons Liverpool want to move their matches to another day, next week. It’s a day they won’t play. It’s a day Liverpool fans will remember. And all that happened just because of hooligans.
