Ku Klux Klan is a secret organization, only for right-wing whites in the United States.
Ideas and goals of the organization:
The ideology and goals of the KKK consist of 5 major topics:
the white race is an irreplaceable head of the nation, and the Christian belief.
To protect USA from any kind of foreign influence or foreigners interest.
The constitution shall rule as it was originally thought and written, based on the holy bible and Christian belief.
Free competition with private ownership, but economical nationalism without any government intervention
special privileges for Christianity, which shall secure the Americans to practice their Christian belief. I.e. praying in the schools
Since the group was formed, eight months after the civil war ended, its purpose has been to create total white power, and depriving blacks of their new rights.
Leaders:The group was formed by Nathan Bedford Forrest, who was Lieutenant-General in the Confederate Army during the civil war, then came William Joseph Simmons, and then Samuel Green overtook the post. Today is Thomas Robb the national leader of the klan.
What did they do:
Members dressed in long robes and cutter so they not could be recognized. The imaginative costumes were used to intimidate the former slaves and slave sympathizers. Because of their ideas and goals, they went around at night and launched scare campaigns to chase people away. This they did by harassment, threats and physical attacks and they also chased away many blacks. If people did not respond to this, they went on to more violent means. They burned crops, houses Was this still not enough, they used even tougher means. This often was different kinds of torture and it often resulted in the death of the people they were chasing.
