When you enter the courtroom, there are seats to the right and the left. Here sits the public, family and friends of the accused, and journalists from the newspapers and television.
In the center of the courtroom, there is a desk, where the defence lawyer, the accused and the (Prosektcuter)”prosecutor” are seated. To the right of them sits the Jury, they are 12 ordinary people who decide if the accused is (giltig) guilty or not guilty.
In the back of the courtroom facing the lawyers and everybody else, sits the judge at a desk that is placed higher to show his dominance over the courtroom.
In front of the judge, sits the court reporter, who write down or type what is being said.
Beside the court reporter sits the judge’s assistant and beside them is the witness who is a person who knows something about the case.
In the courtroom there is also court staff to keep order in the courtroom.
My opinion about the USA’s system of justice is, that is not good that they have the dead penalty.
Because I don’t think that we have the right to take another persons life in the name of the law.
